Legal Review of Working Refugees in Indonesia (Research Study: Afghanistan Refugees in Medan City)

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the juridical certainty of the practice of refugees working in Indonesia. The focus of this research is on the effectiveness of regulations governing working refugees and the factors that encourage refugees to stay working. The sample used in this study is Afghan refugee citizens by analyzing the results of the Examination Report (BAP) as primary data. This research uses a qualitative method. Based on the results of this study, there are still foreign refugees in Medan City who works because of economic demands and opportunities provided by Indonesian citizens. It is hoped that the research can be used as a reference to formulate policy recommendations that are more effective in overcoming this problem.
