Abstract

PT Pelabuhan Indonesia (Persero) or Pelindo is a State-Owned Enterprise (BUMN) which operates in the port services sector. This company provides opportunities for vocational/equivalent students, university students and new graduates to take part in internship programs through the Talented Generation Internship Program (Magenta). During the selection process, it was identified that the majority of accepted interns had organizational experience. This internship program not only aims to help participants carry out their supervisor/mentor duties, but also encourages the development of participants' competencies to be better prepared to face the world of work. This research aims to analyze the influence of organizational experience and internship experience on the work readiness of interns. The research method used is quantitative with a correlational approach and explanatory models. Data was collected by distributing questionnaires to interns at PT Pelabuhan Indonesia (Persero) I Medan and analyzed using partial tests and simultaneous tests with the help of SPSS version 26. The results of the study showed that organizational experience had a positive and significant effect on work readiness. Likewise, internship experience also has a positive and significant influence on work readiness. Simultaneously, organizational experience and internship experience together influence the level of work readiness of interns. These findings indicate the importance of integrating organizational experience and internships in human resource management strategies to improve the work readiness of the younger generation.
