Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of competence, training, and work discipline on employee performance with career development as an intervening variable at PT Adhi Karya (Persero) Tbk. The research method used is a quantitative approach with data analysis techniques using Partial Least Square (PLS). The sample in this study consisted of all employees totaling 50 respondents using a saturated sampling technique. The results show that competence and work discipline have a positive and significant effect on performance and career development. Meanwhile, training does not have a significant effect on performance, but has a significant effect on career development. Career development is proven to have a positive and significant effect on performance. In addition, indirect testing shows that competence and work discipline have a significant effect on performance through career development, while training does not have a significant effect on performance through career development. Thus, it can be concluded that career development is able to mediate the effect of competence and work discipline on performance, but has not been able to mediate the effect of training on performance. This study is expected to contribute to the company in improving employee performance through enhancing competence, work discipline, and more effective career development management.
